FCSO Deputy Receives Statewide Recognition

Deputy of the Year Award

FREDERICK, Md. (September 13, 2024) – Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Corporal Brady Parson has been awarded Deputy of the Year by the Maryland Sheriff’s Association for 2023. Cpl. Parson was presented the award at the annual Maryland Sheriff’s Association conference in Ocean City, MD on Monday, September 9, 2024.

Cpl. Parson, who has been with the Sheriff’s Office since 2017, was awarded for his contribution to his profession.

“Cpl. Brady Parson is an extremely dedicated young law enforcement officer who has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities while at the Sheriff’s Office. He is very proactive and effective on the street as a supervisor on the PACE Team, resulting in many arrests of individuals involved in repeat criminal activities in Frederick County. His interdiction efforts have allowed us to seize large quantities of illegal drugs that are poisoning our community.  The most impressive may be his commitment to physical fitness which is having a positive impact on the entire agency, especially young deputies and recruits. He is very simply an all-round fine young man,” said Sheriff Chuck Jenkins.

In 2023, Cpl. Parson obtained 67 total arrests including 37 criminal arrests, 20 warrant services, and 10 traffic arrests. A few of Cpl. Parson’s noteworthy seizures produced 349.4 grams of Cocaine, 80 grams of Fentanyl, and 2 stolen vehicles. Additionally, Cpl. Parson played a pivotal role in developing and conducting training programs for de-escalation, defensive tactics, taser, baton, and physical training (PT). His contributions extended to supporting the agency as a Field Training Officer, implementing a physical fitness program for new agency hires, and designing a comprehensive physical fitness program for FCSO's explorer program. These combined efforts have positively impacted the community and established a strong foundation for new deputies starting their careers in law enforcement.

Cpl. Parson is currently a member of the Proactive Criminal Enforcement Team and a lead agency instructor.
